ABOUT ME
I am an artist living amongst the trees in the heart of Greenville, SC with my little family of 4, +1 dog. Having spent most of my artistic career as an award winning photo-retouching artist in the commercial photography industry, I had the desire to invest time in a more analog art practice.
With painting, I feel I’m able to push the boundaries as the director and creator of my own artistic vision. In this space I am evolving, staying curious, experimenting and connecting with myself to gain peace and clarity. My hope is that through connecting with myself that I can also connect with others through my work.
My current mediums of choice range from watercolor, acrylic and oil paint, to markers and colored pencils.
What inspires me?
There are so many things that influence my work, from movies and music to fashion and travel, but I’m mostly inspired to interpret my experiences of the fleeting moments in-between—the spaces where life quietly or abruptly unfolds and intertwining where quiet thought meets life’s influences. Much of my inspiration happens when I take moments to regard details in nature that otherwise go unrecognized, like little wisps of the underbrush that evoke rhythm and strength.
In contrast, when the rebellious energy within me stirs, I channel it into my work. Nature, color, gestural brushstrokes, and music, all serve as my creative catalysts, fueling my work and allowing me to explore the intersection of emotion and form.
